OBITUARY
Ruth Alice Kuester
Ruth Alice Kuester, nee Eickhoff, 85 of Millstadt, Ill, born December 7, 1931 in Chamois, MO., passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Dammert Geriatric Center in Belleville, Ill.
She was an active member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill.where she participated in Women's Fellowship and taught Sunday School for many years. She served as a volunteered at Nice Twice in Belleville, Millstadt Consolidated School, BTHS West as a band mother, and boy scouts. She was employed at Paddock Industries in Millstadt and Elite Tool Manufacturing in Belleville. Her favorite place was the outdoors where she enjoyed gardening, yard work, feeding the birds, picking berries, and walking. She liked baking, family vacations and cats.
Her family appreciates the care and compassion she received from her caregivers over the past year.
Surviving are her children, David (Jane) Kuester of Millstadt, Ill., Debra (Mark) Vandermyde of Forsyth, Ill., Karen Glenn of O'Fallon, Ill. & Kevin (Karen) Kuester of Freeburg, Ill., her grandchildren, Will, Adam, Noah & Emma Kuester; Rachel Vandermyde, Ryan & Alex Glenn, Christopher, Daniel & Sarah Kuester, her great grandchildren, Ben, Penny, Judah, Max, Everett and Greta. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Kuester; her parents, William Fred & Mathilda Emelia, nee Cramer, Eickhoff and her brother, William Eickhoff, her sisters, Dorothy Utlaut & Shirley Frasier
Visitation will be on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill. and on Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill.
Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, Ill., with Rev. Darrell Weber, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Freivogel Cemetery in Millstadt, Ill.
