Russell E. Smith, 82 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 11, 2011. He was born in French Village, IL, the son of the late Russell and Dovie (Kane) Smith. He had worked at Golden Dipt, Millstadt, IL and had been a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Columbia, IL, and Columbia Blue Lodge #474 A.F. & A.M (services at 1:30 pm Saturday at the church). Russel was a U.S. Army Veteran, and a Boy Scout, having received the Order of the Arrow. He was married to Lucinda (Galle) Smith, who survives him. They were married on September 13, 1952, at Marissa, IL.
