AUNT RUBY WILL BE MISSED MORE THAN WORDS CAN TELL, SHE WAS AND STILL IS A GREAT PERSON. ANYONE WHO KNEW HER LOVED HER. AUNT RUBY SHOWED HER LOVE TO PEOPLE.
AUNT RUBY WAS ALWAYS DOING THING FOR ME LIKE: PIERCING MY EARS WHEN I WAS YOUNG (BECAUSE I WANTED TO BE LIKE HER AND MOM), SHE painted MY FINGER NAILS, SHE LET ME LOOK IN JEWELRY BOX EVERY TIME I WAS AT HER HOUSE, SHE NAMED HER FIRST CHILD BRENDA BECAUSE I WAS SICK AND ASKED HER TO, SHE COOKED FOR ME, SHE GAVE ME CLOTHING THAT WAS TO SMALL, SHE ALWAYS CAME TO SEE ME WHEN I CAME TO MOM'S FOR A VISIT. THIS IS JUST A FEW OF THE THINGS THAT AUNT RUBY DID FOR ME TO MAKE ME FEEL SPECIAL. I LOVE YOU, AND MISS YOU AUNT RUBY.

Aunt Ruby was such a sweet lady! I remember visiting her when I was younger and her always wanting to feed us some type of sweet (something we didn't get very often). She would tell me how much I looked like my mother, and would always have nice things to say about me. I loved Aunt Ruby very much, and I thank God, that I was blessed to have her as an Aunt.
My prayers are with all of you.
Love,
Cindy

My deepest sympathies to Ruby Starr's family. She is among some of my dearest childhood memories growing up as friends with Steve and Eddie. May God give your hearts comfort during this difficult time and the days ahead.
You have our sympathy in the loss
of Ruby. While we were in Cahokia
we would meet out shopping once
and awhile and have conversations
about our families. She was such
a caring, compassionate person.
She will be missed by even those
who knew her casually.
I don't know where to start with talking about what a wonderful woman that my grandma was.
If I was talking to her on the phone or over at her house, she always put a smile on my face no matter what she did. Now, my memories will make me smile. I loved and will ALWAYS love my grandma very much.
Grandma, I miss you and love you!
For the last 5 years, I have had a grandmother back in my life. Although she was related through marriage, it was the first time in almost 10 years that I had one at all. I will miss her immensely. She was a sweet woman that had so many things I could say, that it would take the next 2 hours to describe her and those things. I will miss Grandma Starr and I am happy to have had the chance to meet and talk with her. I love you grandma Starr and I always will.
To all of the Starr family,
Our memories are so fond, so beautiful of Ruby. We love all of you and just feel sad along with everyone.
As for me I just remember Rube as a giver that put her family and friends first, always first. I can say she treated me like someone special every time Eddie and I would finish school and go to McDonalds( Diana always practicing piano and little Mark running about ). Just a special word to "Bid Ed" to say that you also are special and you always enlightened me with your insights into all things.( especially politics..you influence me still.) I love you and that beautiful wife Rube.
With all our love,
