Ruby L. Liefer's Obituary
Ruby Louise (Koester) Liefer, 91, of Red Bud, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital. She was born April 11, 1933 to the late William and Frieda (Nagel) Koester in Evansville, Illinois. She married Nobert T. Liefer on May 4, 1952 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Evansville, Illinois who preceded her in death.
Surviving are: a son, Ron (Patti) Liefer of Red Bud, daughters, Janel (Stanley) Voss of Red Bud and Donna (Mike) Van Dorn of Red Bud, son-in-law, Wayne Seders of Prairie du Rocher, her grandchildren: David (Melanie) Seders, Jennifer (Jarrod) Braun, Melissa (Thomas) Ziegler, Rev. Todd (Kelly) Liefer, Jaclynn (Jeff) Welten, Scott (Andrea) Voss, Kevin (Jennifer) Voss, Mallory (Robert) Guithues, Tanner Van Dorn, Parker Van Dorn; step grandchildren Connie Meyer, Rhonda (Paul) Greatting, Ronnie (Tina) Seders; as well as many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, her siblings, Bernadine Wegener, Florence (Carl) Zschiegner, Jeannette (Tom) McLaughlin, Glenn Koester, and sisters-in-law, Lorraine Koenigstein and Pearl Liefer.
Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Carol Seders, sister, Norma Liefer, three brothers-in-law, Elmer Liefer, Otis Wegener and William Koenigstein, and one sister-in-law, Mary Koester.
Ruby was a farm wife who enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling, volunteering, and spending time with her family. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), Trinity Lutheran Mission Society, St. Clement Hospital Auxiliary, and Red Bud Senior Circle.
The visitation will be Wednesday, June 5 from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie) with Rev. Scott Hojnacki officiating. Internment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Fund, 10235 S Prairie Rd, Red Bud, IL 62278 or KFUO Radio, 1333 S.
