Roy Dale Rea Sr.'s Obituary
Roy Dale Rea Sr., 70 years of Dupo, IL, passed away on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. He was born July 28, 1952, in Bollinger, MO.
Roy was a retired engineer from the Alton & Southern Railroad with over 30 years of service. Roy spent many years coaching and helping at the Dupo Quarterback Club. He enjoyed camping, fishing, drinking beer and watching out the window.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Donna Rea, nee Thielemann, his children, Roy (Liz) Rea, Jr., Justin (Crystal) Rea and Kelly Rea, his grandchildren, Dale (Amy), Lucas, Kassidy, Leah and Hunter Rea, his great grandchildren, Reagan and Ryker, his brothers, Jerry (Ann) Rea, Mike (Sherry) Rea and Jack Rea, his father-in-law, Donald Thielemann, his dogs, Piper and Foxy, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Savannah Amsden, his parents, Luther and Doshia, nee Adams, Rea, his four sisters, Eileen Mattingly, Betty Duck, Janet Owens and Shirley Embrey.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. Memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, Il., with Jim Jarvis, officiating.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to the family. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
