Roy A. Grueninger's Obituary
Roy A. Grueninger, 82 years, of Columbia, IL, passed away on July 28, 2018. He was born March 24, 1936, in Columbia, IL, son of late Joseph A., and Dorothy M., nee Hoock, Grueninger. He was married to Ethel R., nee Peterson, Grueninger, who survives him. They were married February 16, 1957, at Immaculate Conception Church in Columbia, IL.
Roy had retired from Monsanto Corp., Sauget, IL, in 1993 after working there 32 years. He was also an instructor at Bailey Tech College, and as an EMT on the Columbia, IL Ambulance system, which he helped establish.
Surviving are five sons, Mark Grueninger of Valmeyer, IL; David (Tammy) Grueninger of Columbia, IL; Daniel (Jennifer) Grueninger of Smithton, IL; Eric Grueninger of VA; and Christopher (Nanette) of Mooresville, NC; two sisters, Joyce Rose of Columbia, IL; and Suzanne Smith of Columbia, IL; brother Thomas J. Grueninger of Columbia, IL; 15 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael R. Grueninger, and grandson, Joshua Grueninger.
Memorial visitation will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. at Lawlor Funeral Home in Columbia, IL. There will be a Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m.
