He was preceded in death by his parents: Alney and Jeanette, nee Johnson, Tanner, his sister: Dorothy Martin, his nieces and nephews: Jan Parker, Donald Parker, Mike Parker, Andrew Tanner & Caroline Tanner. He is survived by his wife: Irene Tanner, nee Luebbert, whom he married on December 18, 1971, his children: Richard (Carla) Lock of Millstadt, IL., Jerome Lock of Millstadt, IL., Charles (Georgia) Lock of Waterloo, IL., and Ann Smith of Maeystown, IL. Grandchildren: Shayne Elie, Jessica Lock, Justin Lock, August Lock, Matt Lock, Jason Smith, Michelle Smith, Will Zucha & Kevin Smith. Great Grandchildren: Alyssa, Olivia & Blake Elie, Ava, Stone, Ryleigh, Royan & Cayden Smith, Lillie and Violet Eames. Brothers and sisters: Delbert Tanner, Allan Tanner, Winona Parker and Edna Bivins. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He had worked in claims for various truck lines last working for Preston Trucking in St. Louis, MO. After retirement Rowan had worked for H & R Block. He was member of Local 688 and he was a United States Army Veteran. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Heart Association, National Kidney Association or St. James Catholic Church.
