Ross Alan Nagel's Obituary
Ross A. Nagel, 62, of Red Bud, passed away at 6:49 AM, Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Red Bud Regional Hospital in Red Bud.
He was born March 14, 1958 in Red Bud to Leland and Eva Mary Lou (Light) Nagel. He lived with Brenda (Guebert) Stout for close to 20 years.
Ross graduated from Joliet West High School. He then joined the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged after 17 years of service. As a paratrooper for 101st Airborne, he spent time in Honduras, Spain, Persian Gulf and Germany. After his discharge, he returned home and began working at Western Auto.
Ross enjoyed spending time at home with his family and helping others. He liked tinkering with lawnmowers and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving are two daughters, Nicole Nagel of Portland, OR and Katrina Nagel of Ruma; grandchildren- Roylee and Shane, his close companion, Brenda Stout of Red Bud; mother- Eva Mary Lou House of Lake Placid, FL, brother, Guy (Kathy) Nagel of Evansville; two sisters, Erin Kim (Dwight) Richards of Essex, and Renee Kure of Diamond; two nephews, Scott Nagel and Eric Kapsch; four nieces, Lynne Koerber, Tracy Kapsch, Rebecca Westlake and Brittany Kure; many great nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leland Nagel and grandparents, Alvin and Irene Nagel, and his step father, James House.
As per his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service with Military Honors will be held later. Memorial arrangements were entrusted to Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud.
