So sorry for your loss. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom and all the time I spent at your house when I was a kid. I remember the day we (Larry, Terry, Bonnie, Brad and I) spent the day crawdad fishing in Wilson Creek and when we came back to your house, your mom cooked them all up for us for dinner. To all the Herbecks--I'm so sorry for the loss of your Mom. Working for Rose at Herbies' was my first 'real job', and I really enjoyed working there-it's where I met my future husband (who would always tip me $1, which was huge, when the bill was about $2). I never did learn to make pies like her, though, and her hand-cut fried cod sandwich was the best!She was always smiling, and never had a mean thing to say-even if you messed up (which I never did, of course!). What a sweet lady....

To the whole Herbeck Family, my heart goes out to all of you. Your Mother was such a wonderful lady and a great cook. I loved her rhubarb and cherry custard pies. She would make one for me sometimes when she knew I was home in the summer. I love all of you and my thoughts are with you.

Rose was a remarkable woman. She gave me my first job, never let us slack in our duties to our customers, but yet let us have a little humor and fun. I am grateful for the ethic and calm patience she showed us. Talk about a woman who could make your mouth water with just the hint of one of her homemade pies. I talk about that pie room still to this day and the smells coming from it! I will miss her and happy to know that I got spend a little time under her care. God Bless you!!

My sincere condolences. I grew up next door to the Herbecks. Mr. and Mrs. Herbeck were always great neighbors . I remember many good times living next door to them. She will be missed.
