Rosalie P. Giffhorn's Obituary
Rosalie Pauline Giffhorn, 88 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on May 16, 2019 at Integrity Health Care of Columbia, Columbia, IL. She was born March 2, 1931, in East St. Louis, IL.
Rosalie graduated from Columbia High School in 1949. Her undergraduate work was at Illinois State University and later received her Master's Degree from the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. She was a professor at the University of Nebraska and Northern Illinois University. After retirement she taught at the Riverwoods, IL Montessori School. She and her sister Clarice had owned and operated Camp O-Tahn-Agon, (a girls summer camp), in Three Lakes, WI.
Surviving are her sister, Clarice Giffhorn of Columbia, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose, nee Kull, Giffhorn.
Visitation will be Monday, May 20, 2019, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm, Monday May 20, 2019 at Lawlor Funeral Home, with Pastor Bob Goddard officiating. Interment will follow in the Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
