Ronald Adolph Snyder was called to eternal rest on Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the age of 83.
He was born August 1, 1933, the son of Jonathan Edward Milton and Lillian (nee Brawand) Snyder of Columbus, Indiana.

On August 7, 1955, he was united in marriage to Eunice Dorothia Koch.
We celebrate the almost 62 years of marriage that Ron and Eunice had together. Their marriage was richly blessed with love, faithfulness, spirited conversations, and laughter.
Together they created a loving and nurturing home. The Lord richly blessed their marriage with nine children. The Lord has further blessed this union with the gift of 22 grandchildren: Rebekah, Sarah, Daniel, Hannah, Lydia, Christopher, Annie, Andrew, Kyle, Maxwell, Nicholas, William, Grace, Luke, Zachary, Jessica, Joshua, Jacob, Maria, Benjamin, Rachel, and Katie. The family was also blessed with one great-grandchild, Caitlyn, and another on the way.

Following graduation in May of 1955 from Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois, he was Called to be a Teacher at St. John's Lutheran Church and School in Red Bud, Illinois. He continued his education at the St. Louis Seminary where he received a Master of Arts Degree in Religion, as well as taking numerous courses at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Ron faithfully served as a teacher and Principal at St. John's until his "retirement" in 1998. For many years Ron lifeguarded and managed the Red Bud Municipal Pool.
In retirement Ron continued to substitute teach at Christ our Saviour Lutheran High School, at St. John's Lutheran School and at Red Bud High School until his passing. We give thanks for the 62 years of faithful service to the Lord ad to children and families of St. John's Lutheran School, and the Red Bud community.
Ron was a loving husband, dedicated and proud father and grandfather. He took great pride in his children's academic, music, and athletic accomplishments, but more importantly in his children's walk with Christ. He was an avid gardener. He had a keen sense of humor, and a quick wit. His thoughtful response when asked how he was doing was always, "I am content". As he joins his Heavenly Father we are sure, now more than ever, that statement is true.
