Ronald "Ron" Patrick Devlin's Obituary
Ronald "Ron" Patrick Devlin, 75 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on November 24, 2017. He was born June 2, 1942, in Chicago, IL. He was married to Wilma, nee Schewe, Devlin, who survives him. They were married March 7, 1970.
Ron was a retired office manager for Mine Safety Appliances Company. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. He had served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He enjoyed playing fantasy sports and was a league champion in both baseball and football. He also enjoyed a good wine. Ron was a good, hardworking man who loved his family. He was his niece Grace's biggest fan at her softball and basketball games.
Also surviving are two sons, Matthew (Jolene) Devlin of Columbia, IL, and Christopher Devlin of Las Vegas, NE; his brother, Kenneth (Cora) Devlin of the Philippines, his sister-in-law, Wanda Schewe, nephews, Michael (Cindy) Trowbridge and Will (Chris) Trowbridge. great nieces Catherine and Grace Trowbridge and great nephew Nick Trowbridge, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Rose, nee Wendt, Devlin.
Funeral services will be private.
