Ronald T. Raeber's Obituary
Ronald Thomas Raeber, 82 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on September 26, 2018 at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. He was born December 17, 1935, in East St. Louis, IL. He was married to Norma, nee Genschoreck, Raeber, who survives him. They were married September 13, 1958, in Marysville, KS.
Ron was a retired carpenter and member of Carpenters Local 1997, Columbia, IL. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, Knights of Columbus 6165, George R. Kutterer Council Columbia, IL, Columbia Volunteer Fire Department, Sister Cities of Columbia, and Columbia Gymnastic Association. He had served in the U.S. Navy Reserves and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
Also surviving are his children, Michael Thomas (Janice) Raeber of Columbia, IL, Mary Kay (Lance) Smith of Ballwin, MO and Marty Allan Raeber of Columbia, IL, grandchildren, Hannah Marie Raeber, Sarah Nicole Smith, Thomas Michael Raeber, and Zachary Alexander Smith, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Thomas and Elsie, nee Schmidt, Raeber, half-sister, Karen Melching, half-brothers, Robert Schad, and Wayne Raeber.
Visitation will be Friday, September 28, 2018, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, with Fr. Gary Hogan officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Columbia, IL.
