Ronald "Ronnie Mac" McClenahan's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Ronald "Ronnie Mac" McClenahan
October 24, 1963 – June 28, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ronald “Ronnie Mac” McClenahan, who left this world on June 28, 2025. Known to many as a helper, a fixer, and a true creative spirit, Ronnie lived his life in service to others.
A gifted artist, Ron's creativity knew no bounds. From painting to drawing, woodwork to building. He wrote thousands of songs throughout his life, and was known to many as “Storyteller”. He also had a passion for classic cars and loved building hot rods in his free time.
Ron proudly dedicated 37 years of hard work to the Village of Dupo, a job he truly loved. Even after a full day’s work, he could be found repairing water lines in the middle of the night, helping a neighbor put on a new roof, fixing a car, building a float for homecoming, or mowing a friend’s yard. He never said no when someone needed help.
No matter how much he worked or how tired he was, Ronnie always made time to play with his girls. He was an incredible dad, and a father figure to many. His home was a second home to countless friends, filled with laughter and warmth. The only title greater than “Dad” was “Papa”. He lived for his grandbabies. Ron was also a devoted brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. You could always call on Ronnie Mac—and he’d be there.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Doris (née Emerson) McClenahan; his brothers Dana and Jack; his sisters Donna and Sandy; and his baby boy, Ronald James McClenahan, Jr.
He is survived by his daughters, Molly (Cameron) Bordeaux and Emily (Sejo) McClenahan; his grandchildren Emersyn, Armina, and Evra; his sisters Christina Godier, Renee Gloeckner, and Lynda (George) Myers; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 10, 2025, 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home, Dupo, IL. A Memorial Service will follow at 6:00 pm, with Jim Jarvis officiating.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to his grandchildren's education fund, checks made payable to Molly Bordeaux.
