Roland C. Schmidt, 91, of Waterloo, IL, and formerly of Columbia, IL, passed away at Oak Hill Care Center, Waterloo, IL. He was born in Columbia, IL, the son of Richard and Clara (Wenkel) Schmidt. He was retired from Midwest Rubber, Sauget, IL, where he had worked as an electrician. He had served in the U.S. Army and was a decorated Veteran of World War II. He was married to Esther (Mehrtens) Schmidt, who survives him. They were married on June 4, 1949, at Columbia, IL.
