Robert O. Mehrtens' Obituary
Robert was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou Mehrtens, nee Jurcick and his parents, Otto and Helen, nee Brookshire, Mehrtens. He is survived by his wife Shelby Mehrtens, nee Sprehe, his brother, Ray Mehrtens, his sisters, Frances Mann and Beverly Steinquest, his step-children, Bradley Michael and Tina Michael, his sister-in-law, Maxine (Jim) Edwards. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Robert had worked for Brinks Securities as a truck driver, for Peabody Coal and for Millstadt Township. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, Ill., the Millstadt Uninon Fire Department since 1969, where he had achived the ranks of Captain, City Chief, Assistant Chief and Fire Chief. He was also a member of the Millstadt Sportmans Club.
