Robert W. 'Bob' Naumann's Obituary
Robert W. 'Bob' Naumann, 88 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on January 10, 2019 at Barnes Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. He was born January 23, 1930, in Columbia, IL, son of the late Walter C. and Cora M., nee Reichert, Naumann. He was married to the late Clara J., nee Kreher, Naumann. They were married May 30, 1955, in Paberborn, IL. She had passed away December 16, 2015.
Bob was a member of American Legion Post #581, Columbia, IL, City of Columbia Treasurer (27 years), and longtime member of the St. Louis Metro Polka Club. He had retired from Transamerica Freightlines where he had been the terminal manager. Bob had served in the U.S. Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. American Legion Post 581 services will be held Thursday evening, 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheri A. (John) Ruffin of New Melle, MO, and Mary K. (Roger) Hoock of Dupo, IL; two sons, Terry D. Naumann of Clearwater, FL, and Gary R. Naumann of North Lauderdale, FL; two grandchildren, Justin Skidmore, and Timothy Skidmore; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Gene A. 'Bebs' (Carolyn) Naumann of Tulsa, OK, and Donald R. Naumann of Waterloo, IL, along with other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Durrell 'Buster' E. Naumann, along with two sisters, Marlene 'Sis' Muskopf, and Shirley Lloyd.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, on Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, January 18, at the funeral home, with Fr. Carl Scherrer, officiating. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
