Robert O. Morris' Obituary
Robert O. Morris passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on October 3, 2020 at his home in Millstadt, IL surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born December 31, 1943 in Dallas, TX.
He met the love of his life Elaine, while serving in the US Air Force in Texas. He served 21 years with tours across the United States, Vietnam and Guam. Following retirement from the Air Force, Bob continued serving as a communications contractor at Scott AFB, IL.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Elaine (Fast) Morris, his sons Lance (Candas) Morris and Trenton (Sharon) Morris, and daughters Audree (Jim) Payne and Robyn (Brad) McCrary, ten grandchildren and six great grandchildren, four sisters, and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, along with many relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death was one son, Tyler Morris, his parents Russell and Mary (Gullion) Cogle, his brother Russell Cogle and two sisters, Nora Stulir and Kathy Maben, as well as other close relatives.
Bob was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt and the Millstadt Senior Center. He was an umpire with Khoury League for thirty years. He enjoyed poker, fishing, and following the New York Yankees and Chicago Black Hawks.
On Saturday, October 17, there will be a public visitation with the family of Robert Morris, from 10-11 AM. Due to COVID restrictions, this will be followed by a private family Celebration of Life Service at 11 AM, at Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, IL.
