Robert A. Burgdorf, 79, years of Red Bud, IL, passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at his residence. He was born on November 12, 1943 in Red Bud, Illinois.
Robert was married to Iona M. Burgdorf, nee Warren. She was born on January 8 1948 in Red Bud, IL. She married Robert on March 2, 1968 and she pass away on March 20, 2021.
Robert Had worked for Wiegmann & Co. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL., he was a faithful blood donor to the American Red Cross having donated over 18 gallons of blood. He enjoyed listening to Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton.
Surviving are his son, Steven (Randi) Burgdorf, his daughter, Dianna Anderson, his son, Randy (Carrie) Burgdorf, and his son, Bryant Burgdorf, his grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Savannah Cassie, Cheyanne, Miranda, and Jesse, his great-grandchildren, Hailey Jo, Jaelyn, Macee and Westen, his sister, Carol Niemeyer, his brother, Richard Burgdorf, his sister, Luann Buehler, and his brother, Martin Burgdorf, Jr., along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years, Iona M. Burgdorf, his parents, Martin Carl and Elizabeth Alice, nee Wahl, Burgdorf Sr., his sister, Shirley Hefflinger, his brother, Charles Burgdorf and his great-granddaughter, Mariah.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022, from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL., Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 12, 2022, at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL., with Rev. Mark Nebel officiating. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, IL.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to American Red Cross 10195 Corporate Square, Creve Coeur, MO 63132 . Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL.
