Richard Alan Myers' Obituary
Richard Alan “Rockin’ Rick” Myers September 24, 1957 — January 27, 2026 (68 years old) Richard Alan Myers, known to friends and family as “Rockin’ Rick,” of St. Louis, passed away on January 27, 2026. Born September 24, 1957, in Belleville, Illinois, and raised in Columbia, Illinois, Rick lived a life defined by perseverance, strength, and an indomitable fighting spirit. A true competitor since a young man, Rick earned the title of Heavyweight Champion of Illinois in boxing — a distinction that spoke not only to his physical prowess but to his grit and determination. Outside the ring he embraced many passions: he loved cycling, found satisfaction in a long day selling cars, and committed to health-forward living, including a fondness for wheatgrass and natural wellness. Family and friends remember him for his toughness and the quiet pride he carried through life. Rick was a devoted son. He is survived by his children, Richard A. Myers (fiancé Kathryn Shaffer) and Nicole Myers; his grandchildren Jeremy Berg, Tucker Berg, and Richard Myers Jr.; his brothers Ed (Ann) Myers and Charlie Myers; sister-in-law Debbie Myers; and a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Colleen (Sumey) Myers; his brother Bob Myers; his daughter Mackenzie Myers; and sister-in-law Dottie Myers. Those who knew Rick best recall a man who faced life head-on. Whether training in the gym, riding his bike, or sharing stories with family, he carried a presence that was at once steady and formidable. He took pride in hard work and found joy in small routines that kept him active and healthy.
A celebration of Rick’s life will be held at a later date in Columbia, Illinois.
