Richard Kaufman's Obituary
Richard Kaufman, 61 years of Dupo, IL, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO., surrounded by his loved ones. He was born October 27, 1958, in Cape Girardeau, MO., the son of Ralph Sr., and Bessie, nee Verbel, Kaufman.
Richard retired after 32 years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad formally Missouri Pacific Railroad as a conductor. He is most proud of his family, children and grandchildren. He married the girl next door.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cheryl, nee Gummersheimer, Kaufman, his son, Kevin (Melissa) Kaufman, his grandchildren, Kamden and Madison Kaufman, his sisters, Grace (Don) Benefield and Joann (Jim) Wilson, his brother, Ralph Jr. (Sandy) Kaufman, his nieces and nephews, Sabrina Benefield, Keith (Cindy) Benefield, Mike Kaufman, Brad (Kristin) Kaufman, Derrek Gummersheimer, and Courtney (Josh) Powell, his great nieces, Brittany (Josh) Kaufman and Candace Benefield, his brothers-in-law, Bobby (Karen) Gummersheimer and Mike Gummersheimer, he is also survived by cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Mary Ann Gummersheimer, his father-in-law, Carl Gummersheimer, his brother, Jerry Kaufman, his sister, Jeannie Kaufman and his nephew, Jimmy McHughs.
Visitation will be on Saturday, November 7, 2020 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
Memorial Services will be held on November 7, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
At Mr. Kaufman's request he was cremated.
