Richard J. Eiskant's Obituary
Richard J. Eiskant, 84, went home with the Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Richard was born on December 3, 1939 at Christian Welfare Hospital in East St. Louis, IL to Wilbur and Virginia (nee Hahn) Eiskant. Richard was surrounded by his loving wife Sharon and his children Michael and Michelle at the time of his passing.
Richard was the owner of a restaurant equipment business. In retirement, he spent his time managing a local food pantry, along with years of outreach serving at Good Samaritan Ministries in Washington Park.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Eiskant, mother, Virginia Eiskant. He is survived by his wife Sharon Braun-Eiskant, son: Michael (Robyn) Eiskant, grandchildren, Olivia and Max Eiskant, daughter: Michelle (Jason) Darnall, grandchildren, Alexis and Carson Darnall. Half brother Stanley (Kimberly) Eiskant. Step children Jeff (Michelle) Braun, Karin (Tracy) Lawless, and Greg (Amie) Braun. As well as 6 step grandchildren and 5 step great grandchildren.
Richard will be cremated and have a Celebration of Life at Leesman Funeral Home at 218 S. Metter Ave., Columbia, IL on Wednesday, July 31, 2024. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. A service will follow immediately after visitation. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: Unity Hospice Palliative Care, 4101 Main St., Skokie, IL 60076, or Hope Food Pantry, 9273 Coach Stop Rd., Columbia, IL 62236.
