We knew Father Steve from Our Lady of Loretto Parish. He was an excellent pastor, spiritual leader and friend.
We enjoyed his home made brews and cooking skills. He is at peace now with the Lord. We will miss him.

Father Steve will be missed. He was a friend, a fellow musician, employer and a part of our family. He inspired our children. He was an excellent homilist who was truly inspired by God.When I celebrate mass on Christmas I will be singing and playing trumpet with Steve like we used to do. You are now with the God who was the center of your life.
Fr. Steve had a wonderful way of preaching - even if I was interpreting and not sure where he was going with it. He would always check on the interpreter to make sure we were ok with his sermon. I just wish I could have been there, but the priests I met here at the conference were understanding as he and all are praying for him. He was a great help for me with all the problems in taking care of my Dad the last few months. I will always hold him in my prayers for that reason. Peace.
Fr. Steve, a man of much knowledge, would trade me beer for wine each holiday, so that we could enjoy the other person's favorites, and later we would discuss the items. I will miss his wisdom, wit, and genuine concern for others. Our congregation will miss him greatly and is far better for having had him for the time that we did.
There will be a big hole in my heart from now on. Father Steve taught me so much in his Scripture study group. The parish is richer in faith because of him. May he rest in peace!
Father Steve was a very special friend and a wonderful influence on our lives. He drew us back to church with his wonderful homilies and his intense love for Christ.
We will miss him dearly but know that is in heaven singing Christmas songs with those who have gone before him. I'm sure he is enjoying the wonderful eternity that he is so deserving of.

My thoughts have turned to the great times ..those fond memories when we laughed together..played hockey..listened to the blackhawk games while sitting on the front stairs of the old seminary on Pine St. Steve has touched many lives..as I celebrate the season of life..joy..hope..I will think of his faith..his ministry..
We will miss you so much Father Steve! Thank you for all of your love and guidance over the years. We are all better for having known you!
My deepest sympathies, our parish lost a very good priest.
I feel blessed to have had Fr Steve touch my life. His words always thought provoking, his willingness to eat every dessert I made endearing, and his zest for life with God amazing. He will
be surely missed. PEACE
