Ramona S. Croan's Obituary
On August 16, 2022, Ramona Sue Coy Croan, passed from this world into the hands of our Lord at the age of 83 in Columbia, IL.
Sue was born in Shepherdsville, KY and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Samuel Lindsay Croan, and her daughter, Cheryl Darlene Baker; her parents, Cornelius and Lillie Coy, brothers; Earl, Charles and Royce Coy, and sister, Jean Chaney.
Sue is survived by her sister, Magdalene Hornung, daughters; Vicki Croan, Kay Pickett and Mona Croan Costin; her grandchildren; Ashley Baker, Samantha Donohue and Taylor Pickett; and her great granddaughters; Elise Baker and Sydney Baker.
Sue never met a stranger and her consistent support and unconditional love gave her a special place in the hearts of her friends and family. Sue greatly enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She found joy every day and always had an optimistic outlook, seeing the positive in everything. A woman of strong faith, Sue led many to know our Lord in a more personal way and was always happy to share her faith with others. Sue Croan's legacy has been most important, as she led her family to know and to love the Lord our God, and made sure they knew there was a better place beyond this world. Per Sue’s wishes, there will be a private, outdoor celebration of life on Friday August 19th with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her nephew and pastor, Rev. Steve Coy, will be officiating
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 305 S Illinois St, Belleville, IL 62220. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home.
