Ralph Joseph Mergelkamp's Obituary
Ralph Joseph Mergelkamp, 88, of Millstadt, Ill. Born, July 23, 1927 in St. Louis, MO., passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his home.
Ralph enjoyed his family and friends, he also enjoyed farming and playing the drums most of his life including with the Waterloo German band. Ralph was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill.
Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna, nee Pepper, Mergelkamp, his grandson, Donald Szewczuk, his step-son-in-law, Steve Kumpf his step-daughter-in-law, Donna Libera and his brother-in-law, Dave Boling.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 20 years, Alene Mergelkamp, nee Hayden, his son, Ron (LaDonna Ebel) Mergelkamp, his daughter, Betty (Ron) Szewczuk, his step-children, Barb Kumpf, Steve (Tammy) Libera, Matt (Janet) Libera, Teresa (Randy) Wild & Frank (Dawn) Libera, his grandchildren, Brian (Stacy) Mergelkamp, Debbie (Fiance Keith) Mergelkamp, Deanna (Toney) Jaromin, Jennifer (Neal) Knapp, Todd Kumpf, Alyssa (Chris) Howk, Steve, Amanda, Scott & Justin Libera, Matthew (Holly) Libera, Emily (Mike) Mueller, Luke (Nancy) Wild, Craig Wild, Justin Dallavis, Erin Hamilton, Sydney Libera, Peyton Hamilton, Frankie & Olivia Libera, his great grandchildren, Tyler & Anthony Mergelkamp, Mackenzie & Easton Jaromin, Tristin & Riley Knapp, Alex & Norah Libera and Jax Hamilton, his brother, Donny (Marjorie) Mergelkamp, his sister, Diane Boling. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church or Heartland Hospice.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, Ill., and on Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill.
Funeral Mass will be on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church in Millstadt, Ill., with Monsignor Marvin Volk, officiating.
Burial will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Waterloo, Ill.
