Rachel Christine Grubb's Obituary
Rachel Christine Grubb, nee Brown 89, of St. Louis, MO., formerly of Red Bud, Ill., born September 15, 1924 in Gruetli Laager, TN., passed away Monday, August 18, 2014 at Green Park Nursing Home in St. Louis, MO.
Rachel was a member of Trinity General Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill. She was held the position of vice president in the Local 136 UAW at the Chrysler Plant in Fenton, MO. She also went with a Missionary group to Jamaica to work at an orphanage twice. While there, she fed and nurtured the children and did sewing for them. She said it was very rewarding for her to be able to help out those who needed it and were helpless.
Rachel was preceded in death by her first husband, Marshall Nunley, her 2nd husband, John Grubb, her parents, Gilliam & Gladys, nee Scarboro, Brown, her son, Harold Nunley, her daughter, Peggy Hawkins, her siblings, James Brown, Preston Brown, Veola Caldwell, Clara Johnson & Betty Totherow and her son-in-law, Billie Hawkins.
Rachel is survived by her daughter-in-law, Marsha Nunley, granddaughter, Rachel Nunley, grandsons, Mathew Nunley, Eric (Jennifer) Hawkins & Brian Hawkins, her great granddaughter, Alyssa Dolan, her great grandson, Tyler Hawkins, & her great great granddaughters, Norah Dolan & Fiona Dolan. She is also survived by other relatives & friends.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Trinity General Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Trinity General Baptist Church in Dupo, Ill., with Rev. Joseph Fletcher, officiating.
Interment will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.
