R.L. Shackelford's Obituary
R.L. Shackelford, 87 years of Columbia, IL, passed away on November 7, 2018 at , Columbia, IL. He was born August 25, 1931, in Paw Paw, OK. He was married to Wanda, nee Ryon, Shackelford, who survives him. They were married on May 24, 1954, in Mississippi.
R.L. had retired as a painter from Reliable Finishing Co. He had served in the U.S. Army, and was a veteran of the Korean War.
Also surviving are two sons, Rodney (Renee) Shackelford of Waterloo, IL, and Rick (Bonnie) Shackelford of Spring, TX; three daughters, Trish (Joe) Cyvas of Columbia, IL, Kaye (Bill) Pretto of Columbia, IL, Christie (Bob) Newell of Imperial, MO; 16 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, sister, Lillie Dunn of St, Charles, MO; two brothers, Max Shackelford of Imperial, MO, and Jerry (Sally) Shackelford of DeSosto, MO, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Hallie, nee Lee, Shackelford; brother, Pat Shackelford.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm, at Lawlor Funeral Home, Columbia, IL. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 pm, Tuesday November 13, 2018 Lawlor Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
