Patricia "Echo" Gayle Selix's Obituary
Patricia “Echo” Gayle Selix, 78, of Red Bud passed away Friday, October 22nd 2021 at her residence. She was born August 28th, 1943 to Albert and Mable Gayle Weddle. She married Rex Selix December 25th, 1989, he survives her.
Echo had previously owned Hub Café while living in Oklahoma and then went on to own several different ceramic shops in Oklahoma, Belleville, and Mascoutah, Illinois. She was very passionate about the arts and loved teaching painting and ceramics. Her passions were comedy, theater, and painting. She often times performed for children’s theaters and most recently, became a stand-up comedian.
She is survived by her husband, Rex, sisters; Aleta Hanson and Nicole Rose, brother; Samuel Weddle, children; Janis Burdell (Paul Rankin), James (Sharon) Candler, Joseph (Staci) Candler, and Jennifer Candler (Darren Rieke), step-daughters; Kim and Amy, grandkids; Jared Songer, Jasmine Songer, Jakota Burdell, Journey Burdell, Lisa Muren, Christy Spain, Riley Candler, Olivia Candler, Jessica Stull, Jillian Matheis, and Jordan Kraus, and great-grandchildren; TayLi, Aura, Ezra, Izzy, Kennedy, Aubrey, Hayden, Cooper, Matthew, Millie, Sammy, Abby, Ben, and Damien, along with many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Echo was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Patrick Weddle and Albert Weddle.
Private services will be held. Cremation rights have been accorded to Leesman Funeral Home.
