Patricia Ann Bertrand's Obituary
Patricia Ann Bertrand , 54, of Columbia, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2009. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Warren and Myrtle (Thoma) Bertrand. She had worked at Monsanto Co., St. Louis, MO and had been a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL. Pat's professional career spanned the worlds of education, small and large business. A lifeling teacher, who worked in the public schools and was part of the adjunct faculty at Southwestern Illinois College. As an entrepreneur, she founded Personal Best Software and PC Support and the Professional Women's Leads Team (PWL). Later, she moved into executive level administrative support to senior management for Monsanto, KTVI/Fox2 and Y98/KEZK radio. She was a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) and was named to the CORO Women in Leadership - Class of 2002. She was married to Steve Smith on June 3, 1989, in Columbia, Illinois, who survives her.Pat's interests at home included cooking, gardening, rescuing extraordinary cats, and enjoying the love and companionship of her family and many, many friends.
