Orville H. Liefer's Obituary
Orville H. Liefer, 91 years old of Red Bud, passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Coulterville Care Center in Coulterville, IL.
He was born October 24, 1930, in Red Bud to William and Alvina (Mehring) Liefer. He married Nancy Becker on December 13, 1984 in Belleville.
He was a retired Randolph County Sheriff's Deputy having worked there from 1969 until his retirement in 1995. He was also a longtime member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud and the Men's Club.
Orville enjoyed bass and crappie fishing with his beloved Nancy and playing cards with his friends. He was talented at cooking and growing beautiful flowers. He also enjoyed lawn work and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy M. Liefer of Red Bud, IL, his daughters, Debra Ann (Raymond) Absolon of St Louis, MO. & Patricia Jean Markowski of Mountain Home, AR., four grandchildren and one step granddaughter and 3 great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren, his brother, Omer (Neva) Liefer of Baldwin, along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter- Tarah Barden, his brothers, Walter Liefer, LeRoy Liefer & Wilfred Liefer, Ralph Liefer and his sisters, Bernadine Erber ,Wilma Liefer & Loretta Rubemeyer.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 PM, Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud and from 9-10:00 AM, Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud. The funeral service will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 31, 2021 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud. Pastor Mark Nebel will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud.
