Opal Mae Luthy's Obituary
Opal Mae Luthy, nee Sickmeyer, 96 years old was called to her Heavenly home on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at the Red Bud Regional Care in Red Bud, IL. She was born March 24, 1924, in Campbell Hill, IL., the daughter of Harry and Pauline (Huch) Sickmeyer.
Opal married Leland Luthy on February 11, 1945 in Campbell Hill, IL. Leland passed away on April 17, 2016. Also preceding her in death were her twin brothers, Irvin and Vernon Sickmeyer and her sister, Mildred Atchinson. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwin, IL. since 1945. She was a very devoted farm wife. She loved gardening, sewing, painting and dancing.
Surviving are her daughter, Donna (Ron) Kinder of Edwardsville, IL., her son, Gene (Diane) Luthy of Baldwin, IL., her five grandchildren, Tina (Kevin) Stajkowski, Jeremy (Sarah) Kinder, Candace (Scott) Ford, Tammy (Danny) Moll and Kevin (Kari) Luthy, her thirteen great grandchildren, McKenna, Frank, Jack, Tate, Isaac, Ian, Taylor, Landon, Caroline, Sydney, Annabelle, Andrew and Adam.
Private services will be held. Interment will follow in the St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Baldwin, IL.
