Omar Herman Koester, 70, of Red Bud, IL, was born October 27, 1946 in Red Bud, IL., passed away on May 11, 2017 at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL. & the VFW Post 6632 in Red Bud, IL. He had worked as a dairy farmer.
Surviving are his children, Lisa (Shanan) Rodgers, Rachel (Matthew) Sabo, Oliver Koester, Owen Koester, Orin Koester, brothers and sisters, Darlene (Bill) Bahr, Loretta (Norman) Bievenue, Pearl (Jerry) Joersz, Gloria (Rich) Peterson, Eunice (Ben) Smart, Karen (Paul) Powell & Mark (Carolyn) Koester, his grandchildren, Juliana & Serena Rodgers and Charly, Andi & Jessie Sabo. He is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar C. & Valetha C., nee Wegener, Koester and his brother, Oliver Koester.
Visitation will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL.
Funeral Service will be on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, IL., with Pastor Russell Koen, officiating.
Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, IL., with military honors.
