Omar George Harris Sr., 97 yrs., of Dupo, IL, passed away at Belleville Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Belleville, IL. He was born in Sugarloaf Twp., IL, the son of the late Henry and Lillian (Hinzpeter) Harris. He was married to the late Helen (Kish) Harris. They were married on April 29, 1939, at St. Charles, MO. She passed away August 2, 1999.
Omar was a retired operator for Midwest Rubber, Sauget, IL His greatest passion was playing and watching baseball. As a youth in the 1930's he was a sandlot star. He received the game ball after getting a hit off pitching great Satchel Paige.
