Norman H. Rahn's Obituary
Norman H. Rahn, 89 years old of Red Bud, IL., passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Red Bud Regional Care Center in Red Bud, IL. He was born March 29, 1929, in Red Bud, IL.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, IL. He married Frances nee Schaefer Rahn on April 24, 1954. Together they shared 61 years of marriage and five children. Norman worked as a custodian for the Red Bud public school system and as a truck driver. After retirement, he worked for the city of Red Bud as a grounds keeper at the city park. Norman served his country proudly in the United States Army, during World War II. He was a member of the VFW Post #6632 in Red Bud, IL.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances; his parents, Phillip and Ida Rahn, nee Rosemeier; his brothers, Harold Rahn, Phillip W. "Moon" Rahn & Ralph W. Rahn; his sisters, Esther Mosher, Erma Brennen, Vera Herr, and Luella Rehmer.
Surviving are his children; Carol (Michael) Raeber, Dan (Nel) Rahn, Marty (Mary Kay) Rahn, Pete (Nancy) Rahn & Cindy (Keith) Roth; 12 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren, along with numerous relatives and friends.
Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. and 9:30 - 10:30 a.m on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home in Red Bud, IL.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, IL., with Monsignor Dennis Schaefer, officiating.
Interment will follow at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Red Bud, IL.
