Norman was my Scoutmaster in Troop 320 / 620. (I was there when we got re-numbered.) I wonder how many boys he helped become men; surely quite a few. I also got to work for him at his folks' Christmas tree farm in the winter. He was like a second dad to me. I have always cherished, and for the last half century benefited from, my time with him and my fellow Scouts.
Mr. Wessel was a mentor and a great man.It was an honor to have been in troop 320. He'll always be remembered..Best wishes to his family......Butch Riebeling
I will always remember Norman for his kindness. When Dorothy was still alive, they would always come early to church and listen to me practice. I know they heard some "incorrect notes" many times, but Norman would always say how he enjoyed being there and listening. I will always remember his soft words of kindness.

Norman was my Boy Scout leader back in the late sixty’s. He taught me so much back in the day. Many camping trips were enjoyed. As I got older it was always nice talking to Norm back at the old post office on Locust street. Then later after Norm retired, I would always see him, walking with his walking stick.
What a wonderful kind man. My sympathy to Bob, Kathy, and Jim.
For many years Rick and I looked forward to going there to pick out our tree. Scott was a not so willing participant 😂. So sorry for your loss.
