She had worked as a keypunch operator at Laclede Steel and at Armour & Co.. She had been active with the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia Senior Citizens, American Legion Post #581 Aux., and the Sweet Adelines singing group. During WW II she had performed with the USO in East St. Louis, IL.She had graduated from the East St. Louis Sr. High Class of 1941, as well as the Miss Hickey School, St. Louis, MO.
