Nathan Lloyd Valleroy's Obituary
Nathan Lloyd Valleroy, 89 years, of Chester, Illinois passed away on Friday, December 1st at Memorial Hospital of Chester. He was born to Howard and Genevieve (nee Godier) Valleroy on August 9th, 1934 in Evansville, Illinois.
He grew up in Evansville, Illinois. He didn't like school much and started working at a young age doing yard work, mowing, and worked on local farms, too.
He later worked at the International Shoe Factory in Evansville, Cole's Mill in Chester, Pants Factory in Belleville and then worked at Sparta Printing for 27 years on 3rd shift before he retired in 1989.
He married Mary Ann Bridges on November 19th, 1955 in Sparta, Illinois. They had three daughters; Kabbie, Jean, and Brenda Lee.
When Nathan wasn't working, he was running or participating in weekend shooting matches, which he loved and was very skilled at.
He also loved squirrel, rabbit, and raccoon hunting and fishing in the summer months. He was very much the outside kind of guy. He loved animals of all kinds, especially dogs. He always had a small house dog to keep him company in his later years and would feed as many cats that would show up at his door. He also loved watching children at play, it always brought a smile to his face.
He is survived by three children; Kabbie (Rick) Hall of Ellis Gove, IL, Jean Hall of Chester, IL, and Brenda Lee of Ellis Grove, IL, 11 grandchildren; Richard (Karen) Hall of Jacob, IL, Philip (Stephanie) Hall of Woodlake, TX, Cody Hall of Ellis Grove, IL, Charlie (Brittany) Hall of Paradise Valley, NV, Emily Hall of Elbert, CO, Rosemary (Mason) Brewer of West Point, KY, Natalie (Alex) Bradshaw of Walsh, IL, Cindy (Heath) Menefee of Chester, IL, Brandy Gendren of Chester, IL, Sarah (Chase) Caron of Chester, IL, and Tim (Tabitha) Hall of Chester, IL, 28 great-grandchildren; Miriam, Elias, Malichi, Jackson, Allistair, Dietrich, Gabe, Gunner, Baby Hall (Charlie & Brittany, arriving April 2024), Keegan, Kalee, Kelsey, Sam, Nolin, Kyndl, Sonny, Mathew, Madeline, Coby, Caleb, Austin, Ethen, Haydan, Lannin, Adalyn, Anna, Shea, and Aiden, six great-great grandchildren; Hazel, Jack, Alivia, Baby Young (Kelsey & Gavin), Baby Gendron, and Karsyn, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, sisters and brothers-in-law; Maydel (Bob) Jordan, Lee Sipole, Dorthy (Bill) Yankey, Jean (Ray) Kinon, Evelyn (Virgil) Anderson, Idell and Mary Frances Douglas, brothers; Melvin (Gladys) Valleroy, Ray (Lydia) and Ed (Thelma) Douglas.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 30th from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
