Myrtle A. Weis, 91 years of Millstadt, IL, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South, St. Louis, MO. She was born September 24, 1931 in Waterloo, IL.
Myrtle was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL. and the ladies aid at Trinity Lutheran Church. Myrtle enjoyed sewing, quilting, cooking, baking cookies (she was known for her Spingerle cookies) and loving on her great grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Shirleen (Frank) Simek, her sons, Mark (Lauri) Weis, Mike (Cheryl) Weis & Terry (Kate) Weis, her grandchildren, Stan (Lindsey) Simek, Frank (Kristen) Simek, Brett (Nicole) Simek, Ryan (Angela) Weis, Andy (Natalie)Weis, Tara (Steve) Keys, Jody Weis, Lacey Weis, Jessica Weis, Shane Weis, Samantha Weis, her great-grandchildren, Camden, Chase and Saylor Keys, Mae, Claire and Owen Weis, Nora Weis, Kaison and Landon Weis, Cecelia, Franklin and Arlo Simek, Stas, Ty and Quinn Simek, Joel, Eliah and Jude Simek, her brother, Kermit (Suzanne) Mueller, her sister, Helen Weible, she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clarence Weis , her brother, Herbert Mueller, her parents, Otto and Olinda E., nee Stumpf, Mueller, her brother-in-law, Clyde Weible, her brother-in-law and sister in-law, Freddie and Ethel Schuhardt.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 13, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL., and on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2023 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL., with Pastor Peter Ill, officiating.
Entombment will follow in the Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL. or to the Alzheimer's Association. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Millstadt, IL.
