Merle E. Haberl, 84 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at St. Anthony's Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born October 9, 1930, in Columbia, IL, the daughter of the late Robert and Gertrude (Toenjes) Hermann.Merle, along with her husband, were the past owners of "Tiny's" Tavern in Columbia, IL, and she had helped manage the families' Bellacino's Restaurant, St. Louis, MO. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Columbia, IL, where she had been active with the Altar Sodality, and the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Saturday Bunko Club, and the 80's Ladies, and was a past member of the Columbia Gymnastic Association Aux..She was married to the late Howard "Tiny" Haberl. They were married on April 22, 1950, at Columbia, IL. He had passed away January 30, 1999.
