He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years: Florence Veit, nee Van Buren, his parents: Alvin C. & Ella, nee Gruenewald, Veit, his brother: Earl Veit, his father & mother-in-law: John & Frieda, nee Wolf, Van Buren and his sisters-in-law: Hilda Veit and Helen Van Buren. He is survived by his children & caregivers: Ricky & Chris Veit, Sharon & Rick Cromwell and Randy & Linda Veit, his 4 loving grandchildren & caregivers: Michelle, Megan & Andrew Veit and Coleman Cromwell, his sisters & brothers-in-law: Esther & Herman Koldehoff, Norman & LaVerne Van Buren & Harvey Van Buren, his best friends: Leslie Stumpf and Shirley Mueller and he loved his dogs, especially Roxy. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. Mr. Veit was a lifetime Millstadt resident and farmer. He loved his family and his farm life dearly. He was always close to home. His farm and family was his whole life. He was always happy on a tractor and in his later years never missed a planting or harvest season. A lifetime of farming and love and family- thatÆs the best life. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Church in Millstadt, IL., St. Clair County Farm Bureau and Sister Cities Porta Westfalica.
