Melvin was preceded in death by his parents: Chester & Olga, nee Bruehl, Valerius, his brother: Virgil Valerious, & a son in infancy. Melvin is survived by his wife: Hildegunde Valerious, nee Keitel, his children: Laurie (Butch) Sparwasser of Waterloo, IL., James (Sherry) Valerious of Belleville, IL., Linda Hubbard of Swansea, IL., Jill (Tony) Schaefer of Belleville, IL., Jeanne (Greg) Varel of Bartelso, IL., & Major Bruce Valerious of Crestview, FL., also survived by 12 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Melvin was a US Navy Veteran. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Millstadt, IL.
