Maryellen "Mudgie" Marsoun, 66 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at St. Clare Health Care Center, Fenton, MO. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Nichols) Douglass. She had been a retired a Read Obituary
Tom and Ron were friends at Edinboro University. Tom and I (Diane) were at their wedding in Pittsburgh and spent much time together in our younger days. Mudge was such a beautiful and friendly girl. We had lost touch over the years but we remember them SO fondly. Our most sincere condolences to her family.
Maryellen was my best friend. My heart and soul will miss her.

Mudge was always a special friend to me since the time that she and Ron were raising Brian in a basement apartment on Big Creek Parkway in Cleveland.
I will remember her for her always present smile and quick wit.
Maryellen, we loved your smile and how you made everyone around you smile and laugh.

Jack and I send much love to Brian and Jeff and their families. How hard for them to lose Mudge. One of the most amazing things that Mudge did was raise two wonderful boys all by herself after my brother Ron died. She lives on in Brian and Jeff and her two beautiful granddaughters.For that, we smile.
We are so thankful we had the opportunity to meet Mudgie a few times, what an awesome mother, mother-in-law and grandma. Your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We love you you all.

I am so sad for your loss. Mudgie was such a wonderful lady who I thought of as a friend. I am so glad I witnessed her last days with her family. She was so happy, her face glowing as she took pictures and watched Emma and Jade jump on the trampoline. She was always thrilled when all her family could be together. I know how much she loved her family and was so thankful that you opened your home to her. I will miss my talks with her and our occasional glass of wine. I WILL smile when I think of her!
Thank you, Maryellen, for being such an important part of our lives and thank you for all the good things we learned from you about happiness and friendship. Your last words to us were "I'll talk to you on the other side" and we will talk again, we're sure. We all have the best memories to carry us on and put a smile on our face each time we think of you, which will be often.
