Mary L. Walls' Obituary
Mary Louise Walls, 79, of Ellis Grove, passed away at 9:52 PM, Monday, October 12, 2020 at her home.
Mary was born on August 29, 1941 in Evansville, IL to Albert and Mabel (Kennedy) Biethman. She married Thomas Walls in 1958 and he preceded her in death on August 19, 2017.
Mary was a longtime and active member of Ellis Grove First Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and formerly served as Sunday school teacher. She was a hardworking lady who began her career working at Singer and then later worked several years as an attendant/receptionist at the Chester Country Club.
In her spare time, she enjoyed following her beloved St. Louis Cardinals and cooking delicious meals like chicken and dumplings, turkey and dressing and Texas sheet cake. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling and playing softball and getting together with her high school friends for lunch. Most of all she loved her family and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her daughter, Deanna (Gary) Littell of Goodfield and son, Stephen (Lawanda) Walls of Ellis Grove; 9 grandchildren, April (Randy Whalen) Walls, Sean (Megan) Walls, Darrell (Jennifer) Walls, Dane (Kelly) Walls, Kristen Walls, Matthew (Rachel) Walls, Mitchell Walls, Dustin Littell and Macy Littell; 17 great grandchildren, daughter in law, Doris Walls of Red Bud; sister, Frances Wittenborn of Sparta; two brothers, Boniface Biethman of Ruma and James (Linda) Biethman of Rocher, brother in law, Jerry (Rose Ann) Walls of Ellis Grove, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Thomas Walls; two sons, Dwayne Walls and David Walls; brother, Kenneth Biethman and two sisters, Betty Fink and Nathalie Phegley.
The funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Friday, October 16, 2020 at Ellis Grove First Baptist Church. Pastor Dan Ahlenius will officiate. Burial will follow in Ellis Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service, Friday, October 16, 2020 at Ellis Grove First Baptist Church. Funeral services were entrusted to Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud.
