OBITUARY
Mary G. Schmidt
Mary G. Schmidt, 76, of Columbia, IL., passed away November 14, 2024, in St. Louis. She was born September 22, 1948, in St. Louis, MO., to the late Thomas & Beatrice Whalen.
Mary's family was her whole world. Her primary passion was being a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and lunch dates with her friends. She also loved off-shore fishing for Billfish and then later in life developed a passion for fly fishing out west. When she wasn't traveling with her husband Rick, she loved to relax in front of the fireplace in their log home.
Surviving are her loving husband Rick Schmidt, Sr. of Columbia, IL.; her dedicated sons Rick (Lisa) Schmidt, Jr. of Columbia, IL., and Greg (Nicki) Schmidt of Columbia, IL.; brother Bill Whalen of Seattle, WA.; her dear grandchildren, Collin Schmidt, Kaytie Schmidt, Bodie Schmidt, Kami Schmidt, Charli Schmidt.
Visitation for Mary will be Friday, November 29, 2024, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Columbia, IL., where prayer services begin at 12:30 p.m at the church.
