Mary "Mickey" C. Descher's Obituary
Mary "Mickey" C. Descher, 86 years of Cahokia, Illinois, passed away on November 17th, 2023, in Cahokia, Illinois. She was born January 15th, 1937, in East St. Louis, Illinois to Earl and Margaret, nee Clancy, Reid.
She graduated from St. Theresa Academy in East St. Louis and later went to work as a secretary at Boyer & Associates in St. Louis. Mary was very athletic, she loved to fish, play horseshoes, and golf. In her later years, she enjoyed an occasional trip to play slots and always loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Surviving are her sons; Daniel (Wendy) Descher, Robert (Loretta Standley) Descher Jr., Timothy (Michele Halter) Descher, daughters; Kathleen (Steve) Stone and Terri Ryan, grandsons; Travis (Lisa) Fitzgerald, Derek Descher and Drew Descher, granddaughter; Kayla (Travis) King, great-granddaughter; Aubrie Fitzgerald, sisters; Janice "Dot" (Wes) LaVitte, Rose Henderson, and Geraldine "Gerri" (Mike) Kee, brother; Earl "Sonny" Reid, sister-in-law; Loretta Reid, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Earl and Margaret Reid, husband; Robert Descher Sr., brothers; Donald (Mathilda) Reid and Bernard Reid, sisters; Patricia Reid, Kathleen Reid, Earleen Layton and Carole Smith.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, Illinois. Services will be held on Tuesday, November 28th, 2023, at 11:00 am at Holy Family Catholic Church in Cahokia, Illinois. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Southern Illinois, 305 S. Illinois St., Belleville, IL 62220.
