Mary Helen Collins' Obituary
Mary Helen Collins, 90 years, of Columbia, Illinois, passed away on December 6th, 2023 in Columbia, Illinois. She was born February 13th, 1933, in St. Louis, Missouri to Chester Lee and Eula Lee (Phillips) Bazzell.
She began attending church at 11 years old. She married Delmer Dale Collins on March 2nd, 1949 and they were married for 71 years. Dale and Helen were in the church's choir for 50 years.
Surviving is her son, Dennis (Deborah) Collins, daughter, Rhonda (Richard) Colburn, grandchildren; Chad (Robin) Collins and Darwin (Elisha) Collins, seven great-grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Dale Collins, parents; Chester and Eula Bazzell.
Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13th, 2023 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am at Leesman Funeral Home in Columbia. Private services will be held. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to Bria of Columbia, 253 Bradington Dr, Columbia, IL 62236, and Family Hospice, 5110 W Main St, Belleville, IL 62226.
