Mary Pauline Ahrens' Obituary
Mary Pauline Ahrens, 75 yrs., of Columbia, IL, passed away at Dammert Geriatric Center, Belleville, IL. She was born in Barstow, CA, the daughter of the late Marshall and Louisa (Spinning) Fischer. Mary was a long-time member of the Richland Northwest United Protestant Church, Richland, WA. She had worked as a secretary for the Atomic Energy Commission beginning in high school, then moved on to become a full-time mother for her family. After raising her family, she went back to work at Marlin's Photography, Richland, WA, and had also worked in the fabric department at Payless, Richland, WA. She was a fine quilter and seamstress, and excelled as a great baker.She was married to the late Jack D. Ahrens. They were married on February 12, 1955, at Richland, WA. He had passed away May 17, 1996.
