OBITUARY
Marvin D. Rosenberg
Marvin D. Rosenberg, 102 years of Baldwin, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Garden Place of Red Bud, IL. He was born December 8, 1916, in Red Bud, IL, son of the late Henry Rosenberg and Effie, nee Davis. He was married to the late Eunice, nee Voss. They were married November 25, 1945, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baldwin, IL. She passed away November 8, 2004 after nearly 59 years of marriage.
Marvin graduated from Red Bud High School in 1935. On January 20, 1942, he entered the United States Army Air Corps where he served as a medic during World War II. Marvin was a retired farmer who loved watching and supporting the Cardinals. He was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he held many offices throughout the years, including: chairman of the congregation, elder, trustee, school, and board member. Marvin was a 67 year member and past Commander of the American Legion- Nicholas Laufer Post 619 of Baldwin.
Surviving are two daughters, Bonita (Roger) Roscow, Rita (Alan) Gummersheimer; four grandsons, Jeff Roscow, Corey (Lana) Roscow, Travis (Sarah) Roscow, Jeremy (Melissa) Gummersheimer; ten Great-Grandchildren, Emmett and Elliot Gummersheimer, Philip, Joshua, Jacob, Luke, Logan, Liam, Lane, Landon Roscow; two great-great grandchildren, Kinlee and Colten Roscow; along with several other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Eunice Rosenberg, parents, Henry and Effie Rosenberg; daughter, Karen Rosenberg; son, Ronnie Rosenberg; and sisters, Marvelle Koch and Loraine Sauer.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Koch-Liefer Funeral Home, Red Bud, IL. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church of Baldwin, IL with Pastor Holman officiating. Interment will follow services at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud, IL.
