Marvin Edward Gaither, 87 years of Dayton, OH, formerly of Cahokia, IL., passed away on February 13, 2023 in Dayton, OH. He was born August 17, 1935, in Dunklin Co., MO.
Marvin was retired from Chrysler. Marvin was a Korean War Army veteran and he enjoyed watching westerns, listening to country music and baseball. .
Surviving are his daughters, Terri (Michael) Harashe and Tammie Gaither, his son, Anthony Gaither, his grandchildren, Matthew Davidson, Christopher Narez Devin Narez and Jessica Reid, his great grandchildren, Lane Davidson, Ali Narez, Kyree Reid, Ryder Narez and Kyah Reid, his sisters, Elanore Duncan, Jeanne Chilli, Sister and Faye Price, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Wife, Ila Mae Gaither, his parents, Arvil and Nora Gaither, his three sisters, Melba Kurmis, Ada Bell Thompson and Edna Mustang and his brother, Dale Gaither;
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, 10:00 am - 11:00 am, at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL., Interment will follow in the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to American Cancer Society #5 Schiber Ct., Maryville, IL 62062 . Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Dupo, IL.
