Marvin H. Everding's Obituary
Marvin H. Everding, 85, of Red Bud, passed away at 8:00 AM, Monday, August 8, 2022 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson, in Festus, MO.
He was born on December 1, 1936 in Red Bud to Herman and Wilhelmina (Liefer) Everding. He married Pearl Piel on June 9, 1957 and she survives of Red Bud.
Marvin was a hardworking man who worked for Snyder General for over 35 years. He then worked for the City of Red Bud in Park maintenance for 18 years. He was a lifelong farmer. He was civically active as a former member of the Red Bud Jaycees.
He was a lifelong Lutheran and member and former Elder of Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family and watching sports on TV, especially the St. louis Cardinals. He also enjoyed playing euchre, fishing and gardening. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his beloved wife- Pearl Everding of Red Bud; daughter- Janice Hoffmann and husband Mark of St. Louis, son- Duane Everding and wife Theresa of Thompson Station, TN, son- Darren Everding of Cahokia and son- Timothy Everding and wife Marina of Wheaton, IL. Also surviving are five grandchildren- Nicholas, Benjamin and Kaitlin Hoffmann and Kelly and Eric Everding and four great grandchildren- Kaitlyn, Gavin, Lillian and Annalise, two sisters-in-law, Marie Everding and Dorothy (Harlan) Burmester, and one brother-in-law, Dale (Faye) Piel, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and eight brothers and sisters- Leona (Paul) Hecke, Dorothy (Alfred) Rehmer, Anita (Orville) Hartmann, Pauline (Sonny) Julian, Paul (Melba) Everding, Ray (Wilma) Everding, Erna Everding and Richard (Marie) Everding.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 11, 2022 from 4- 8:00 PM at Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud and from 10-11 AM, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie, Pastor Scott Hojnacki will officiate. Burial will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Prairie.
Memorial donations are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church in Prairie and will be accepted at the church and funeral home. Arrangements were handled by Leesman Funeral Home in Red Bud, Illinois.
